I am a great, great, grandchild of some of South Australia's first white settlers, and am fascinated by the history of our State. 

I grew up on my family's isolated farm in the South East of SA, where I had correspondence lessons and was often absorbed in solitary play.  Books became my dearest friends.  I attended a small country high school, then completed my education at Adelaide's then Methodist Ladies College.  A few years later I moved to Fleurieu Peninsula where I married Harold Skinner, and together we raised our four children on another farm near Victor Harbour.
